Four Christmas videos to get you into the season’s spirit

20 Dec 2017 by Business Traveller Asia Pacific

Air New Zealand

Rather than go with a purely sentimental message, Air New Zealand has taken the opportunity to poke fun at the nation’s accent in its “Mirry Christmus” video this year. Anyone who’s had difficulty having their accent understood during their travels can probably sympathise, and the airline does a good job of showing just how odd the Kiwi way of speaking can be.

Heathrow Airport

It seems that every year, the UK has a sort of unofficial contest to see who can bring out the most touching Christmas video, and this year Heathrow Airport’s “Heathrow Bears” video is arguably it. Who doesn’t look forward to seeing their family greet them at the arrivals hall when they arrive home for Christmas?

Westjet

Offering its own take on Clement Clarke Moore’s famous poem A Visit from St Nicholas, Canadian carrier Westjet shows what kids think are the most important things about the festive season – particular points go to the girl who says the whole world should be made of gingerbread.

American Airlines

American Airlines may have given travellers a scare this year, following the news that thousands of its flights in December were without pilots due to a glitch in its pilot scheduling system – which the airline has since assured travellers won’t affect its services over the holidays – but it gets credit for reminding us in its Christmas video that it’s not just travellers but also crew that are heading back home to their families for the holidays.
