Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts has opened what is billed as the first luxury hotel in the Robertson Quay area of Singapore.

The Intercontinental Singapore Robertson Quay is located on the waterfront of the Singapore River, a five-minute drive from Singapore’s central business district and 25 minutes from Changi Airport.

The 225-room property was designed by architect firm SCDA, responsible for the MINT Museum of Toys in Singapore. The hotel takes inspiration and elements from the quayside, with a contemporary style using rich marble, and copper and bronze tones.

Commenting on the opening general manager Mark Winterton said:

“Intercontinental Singapore Robertson Quay has been created and positioned to make you feel at home, to bring an inspiring lifestyle offering to both the local community and visitors alike.”

The hotel’s penthouse suite has floor-to-ceiling windows offering 360 degree views of Robertson Quay and the Singapore River. It also features five meeting rooms and event spaces, a fitness centre, and a 24-hour club Intercontinental lounge, with club guests benefiting from private in-room or lounge check-in.

There are two dining options, the Quayside Lounge, located on level four which offers afternoon tea and evening cocktails, and the Italian Publico Deli and Restaurant, offering a riverside terrace and a grab and go option.

The Intercontinental Singapore Robertson Quay joins the existing Intercontinental Singapore located in the Bugis district – this property has recently been renovated and was reviewed earlier this year.
