Beijing Hotel Nuo

The Beijing Hotel Nuo may not exactly be a new property – the original Beijing Hotel can trace its history back to 1917 – the property has been under new management as of December last year. Having been managed by Raffles since 2006, the hotel is now operating at the Chinese capital’s second Nuo-brand hotel (its first, the Nuo Hotel Beijing, opened in 2015), with a refurbishment due to begin in June 2018. Hotel Jen Beijing

Having originally debuted in the city in 2015, Hotel Jen made its return to Beijing back in May after its initial hotel in the city, the Hotel Jen Upper East Beijing, closed its doors last December. Now the sole Hotel Jen property in the capital, the central business district-located Hotel Jen Beijing offers 450 rooms alongside a co-working hub, a gastropub featuring its own brewery and an “industrial-chic” gym decorated in graffiti. Pan Pacific Beijing

This Xicheng-district hotel is the Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s sixth in mainland China alongside two properties in Ningbo and hotels in Suzhou, Tianjin and Xiamen. As with the Beijing Hotel Nuo, the new Pan Pacific is also located close to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, near to Financial Street. A conservatory-style Winter Garden is situated on the hotel’s first floor and is directly connected to one of the hotel’s three restaurants, Exchange. Bulgari Hotel Beijing

Due to open its doors to the public this time next week, the Embassy District Bulgari Hotel Beijing is Bulgari Hotels and Resorts first hotel since the opening of the Bulgari Hotel London in 2012. It’s also the group’s second Asia-Pacific property, joining the company’s existing hotel in Bali. Overall 119 rooms will be available at the hotel, while key facilities include a 1,500-sqm Bulgari Spa with 11 treatment rooms, a 25-metre swimming pool and a bar that opens up onto an outdoor terrace with views of the Liangma River. bulgarihotels.com
Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing

Hyatt is opening its first Hyatt Regency in the Chinese capital at the end of this year, the Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing in the city’s Wangjing central business district. Designed to resemble an “urban forest” hotel, the property takes is design from Chinese courtyard-style homes in the form of a three-sided compound surrounding a garden. Overall, the hotel will feature 348 rooms along with five restaurants and a bar, and 5,600 sqm of events space. hyatt.com
Mandarin Oriental, Beijing
Opening: 2018
Having announced back in June 2015 that it would be opening a 74-room hotel in the city’s Wangfujing district this year, Mandarin Oriental last week added to this by unveiling its plans for another property in the capital, the Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing. Occupying a similar size – the Qianmen property will offer 72 courtyard suites – the new hotel is being designed in the style of the city’s famous hutong buildings. Alongside a Chinese restaurant and a traditional tea lounge will also be a roof terrace and a Mandarin cake shop, while fitness and wellness facilities will entail an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa. mandarinoriental.com
