Mastercard has launched its Visit Korea with Mastercard campaign offering cardholders various discounts on products and services including hotel accommodation, transportation, dining, and retail.

Cardholders booking hotel accommodation on Expedia by September 30 this year can get a 12 per cent discount by collecting a unique coupon code and redeeming it on the payment page. The promotion is valid for stays before December 31.

Benefits can also be picked up at LG U+ global roaming centres at Seoul’s Incheon and Gimpo, and Busan’s Gimhae airports. These offer wifi router rental services with unlimited data, and Mastercard cardholders can get an extra day of rental free when they rent for two days. A fee waiver on power bank rentals is also offered.

Cardholders can also get 53 per cent off of their AREX Airport Express train tickets between Incheon Airport and Seoul station in the city centre, which gets you between the two in 43 minutes.

On the F&B front, benefits range from “buy one get one free” at select coffee shops, as well as discounts ranging from 10 to 20 per cent at restaurants such as 3 Birds Trattoria, YG Republique and Hanmiri.

Meanwhile bargain hunters can get a free voucher and gift when presenting their card at the concierge of Doota shopping mall in Dongdaemun, or get discounts of up to KRW30,000 (US$26) on purchases of US$300 at the Shilla Duty Free store.

Earlier this month, Mastercard also announced a slew of benefits to cardholders flying out of Hong Kong using Singapore-based low-cost carrier Scoot as well as booking site Hotels.com.
