Bmi Regional has launched a new codeshare agreement with Lufthansa subsidiary Air Dolomiti.

The airline will add its code onto five Air Dolomiti routes from Bmi Regional’s hub at Munich to Venice, Verona, Florence (all up to three flights per day), Bari and Bologna (both up to two flights per day).

Bmi Regional said that the new codeshare deal will continue the development of its hub at Munich. The carrier has recently added frequencies on several routes from the airport, and has launched a new service to Lublin in Poland.

In November the airline will also start twice daily flights (daily at weekends) between Munich and Saarbrucken in West Germany.

Commenting on the new agreement Jochen Schnadt, chief commercial officer of Bmi Regional, said:

“The extension of our relationship with Air Dolomiti to include codeshare cooperation is a logical next step for Bmi Regional. The company shares our commitment to providing a quality, convenient product with excellent customer service, and our customers will now have access to a range of excellent routes into Italy from our all-important Munich hub.

“These new routes allow our customers from our existing markets linked to Munich to also enjoy convenient connections to some of Italy’s most exciting locations.”

Earlier this year Bmi Regional amended its baggage allowance and seat booking policy, increasing its standard complimentary baggage allowance from 20kg to 23kg, and adding the option of selecting seats through the customer service centre or online up to 48 hours in advance.
