GMR Hyderabad International Airport launches “Express Security Check” facility for its passengers.

Domestic passengers travelling without any check-in baggage can avail of pre-embarkation security check right at the terminal’s entry gate. After printing a boarding pass from self-service kiosks at the departure forecourt area outside the terminal building, they can access the “Express Security Check” lane without getting into the check-in area and head straight towards their boarding gate.

Hyderabad Airport is the first in the country to offer this facility. It has collaborated with Central Industrial Security Force to offer this convenient security check process to its passengers.

Currently, Hyderabad Airport handles more than 18,000 domestic passengers everyday, out of which around 40 per cent travel only with cabin baggage.

“As part of our ‘Passenger is Prime’ programme, the facility envisions substantial reduction in load at check-in counters and the regular security check areas during peak hours,” says SGK Kishore, chief operating officer of Hyderabad Airport.
