On June 28, the Swiss watchmaking company, IWC Schaffhausen opened a boutique in Munich at Residenzstraße 13.

The second boutique in Germany, to celebrate its launch, IWC unveiled the Portugieser Chronograph Rattrapante Edition and named it “Boutique Munich”. Its blue dial and red hands inspired the colour scheme used for the boutique’s opening night.

The first IWC Schaffhausen in Germany opened in Frankfurt.

Each of the 250 pieces of the special edition — Boutique Munich — has Munich’s Frauenkirche church engraved on the back of its case. Launched especially for the opening of IWC’s Munich boutique, the Portugieser Chronograph Rattrapante Edition will initially be exclusively available for purchase at this showroom.

After cutting the ceremonial ribbon on the evening of the launch event, IWC’s CEO Christoph Grainger-Herr said, “In addition to Neuhausen and Bogenhausen, Munich now also has Schaffhausen. We are delighted that we have now made a small part of the Bavarian capital our own and filled a significant gap in our network with this extraordinary boutique.”

Located in the heart of the city, the two-storey 226 sqm space is dressed in soft beige hues and dark wooden accents. It also features a bar, a corner fireplace and a plush seating area.
