Today, Singapore Airlines will inaugurate the launch of its A350-900 on the Mumbai-Singapore route at 1145, at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

Mumbai is the 16th destination on Singapore Airlines’ route map to receive this aircraft.

Flight SQ 422 departs from Mumbai at 1145 and arrives in Singapore at 1950. Flight SQ 421 takes off from Singapore at 0740 before arriving in Mumbai at 1030.

The A350-900 operates on superior technology, and has high ceilings, large windows, mood lighting and the KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system. The economy class cabin holds 187 seats, 24 in premium economy and 42 in the business class cabin.

Singapore Airlines General Manager India, David Lim said, “Singapore Airlines continually looks for opportunities to enhance the travel experience of our Indian patrons. The launch of A350 services to India is a testament to our commitment towards operating a modern and young fleet across the world.”

Singapore Airlines took delivery of its first A350-900 in March 2016 and today, has a total of 15 of this aircraft type in its fleet. A pending order of 52 of these aircraft are on their way, including seven of the ultra-long-range A350-900ULR variant.

The first of the A350-900ULR will be delivered in 2018. A press release by Singapore Airlines states: “The aircraft will be used to re-launch non-stop flights between Singapore and both New York and Los Angeles.”
