Manchester airport has opened its new paid-for lounge in Terminal 3.

The 1903 lounge is open to adults only and seats 71 guests. It offers runway views, free wifi and “abundant” charging points.

The free hot and cold food menu includes made-to-order omelettes and poached eggs at breakfast, and buffet options such as pies, sliders and curries.

Alcoholic drinks including Jacques Bardelot Brut champagne are also included, along with local creations such as Manchester Pale Ale and Manchester Gin.

Open from 0415 to 2030 (1930 on Saturdays), it costs £35 per person for up to two hours when booked in advance, or £40 for turn-up entry. Fast-track security is also included.

The lounge is named after the year in which the Wright brothers conducted their first flight.

Airlines operating out of Terminal 3 include Air France, American Airlines, Bmi Regional, British Airways, Flybe, Iberia Express, KLM, Ryanair and Vueling.
