TAP Portugal has announced that it will increase the number of flights on its Manchester-Lisbon route from next summer.

From June next year, the airline will fly to Lisbon twice daily from Manchester, while its London Gatwick – Lisbon service will operate 11 times weekly.

From June and July next year, the Portuguese airline will also fly to six new destinations from its Lisbon hub to Toronto, Hungary, Bucharest, Las Palmas, Alicante and Stuttgart.

In the last year, the airline has launched routes to Boston and New York JFK and introduced a fare structure offering one-way prices for long haul travel.

It is also currently retrofitting 48 aircraft with new cabin interiors, and plans to acquire A330 and A320 aircraft in the next year to support the higher frequencies of its mid to long haul routes.
