Marriott has opened the latest property under its lifestyle Moxy Hotels brand, and the first in the UK.

The 200-room Moxy Aberdeen Airport is located within walking distance of the terminal, and features brand signature facilities including the Living Room, offering “abundant power and USB outlets, and furiously fast and free wifi for ultimate connectivity”.

Other features include a games room and bar, a 24-hour self-service food and beverage concept, flexible meeting space with natural daylight, photo booth-inspired hotel lifts, and a gym with Moxy pink punching bag.

Rooms have sound-reducing walls, 42-inch LCD TVs, free wifi, USB ports, deep-seated armchairs and floor-to-ceiling artwork.

Commenting on the opening Vicki Poulos, global brand director, Moxy Hotels said:

“Moxy’s newest outpost in the urban city of Aberdeen will embody the brand’s contemporary and playful design in a tech enabled environment – a dynamic setting for the first Moxy Hotel in the United Kingdom.

“As an established hub for business with a growing tourism industry, we look forward to introducing this experiential and affordable brand to fun hunter travellers.”

Moxy Hotels launched in Milan in 2014, and has sinced added properties in Tempe, Munich airport, New Orleans, Frankfurt Eschborn and Berlin.

Forthcoming UK locations for the brand include London Excel, London Stratford and Heathrow.
