Four Seasons Hotel New York has completed a design overhaul of its rooms and suites.
Lead by architect and designer I.M. Pei, the US$120 million renovation project saw the remodelling of all 368 rooms and suites.
The renovated suite categories range from the 46 sqm Junior suite to the 74 sqm Central Park suite and the 111 sqm Manhattan suite, which offers a living room, dining room, marble bathroom and powder room.
Pei’s design includes handmade furnishings made from Japanese tamo ash and cerused oak, plus English Sycamore wood panelling, lizard Gold and Chabata wall coverings, custom-woven wool carpets and hand- knotted rugs.
Rooms feature large windows with views across Central Park and Manhattan, ziggurat-shaped ceilings, walk-in Sycamore closets and curved 55 to 65-inch high-definition TVs.
Bathrooms have separate showers and tubs (many of which have whirlpools), remote-controlled mirror televisions and Bulgari amenities.
Wifi is free throughout the hotel and all guests can access the hotel’s fitness centre and the L Raphael Beauty spa, which has sauna and steam facilities.
For meetings and events, there is 1,127 sqm of meeting and events space, including a ballroom which can accommodate up to 165 seated or 270 for standing receptions.
Rates start at US$1,225 per night.
