Intercontinental Hotels Group has opened its second residences in Doha, attached to the existing Intercontinental Doha hotel.

Intercontinental Doha Residences offers 82 units located along Doha’s longest natural private beach, with a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, as well as 17 three-bedroom villas – three of which overlook the Arabian Gulf.

Facilities available either onsite or at the adjacent hotel include “numerous award-winning restaurants and bars”, Spa Intercontinental, several swimming pools, a gym and health club, tennis and squash courts, a children’s playground, business centre and housekeeping services.

Commenting on the opening Pascal Gauvin, Chief Operating Officer, India, Middle East and Africa, IHG said:

“Qatar is a key city (sic) for our strategic footprint in the region. We expect to grow by over 40 per cent (by number of rooms) over the next three to five years as we open the 25 hotels (9,658 rooms) in our pipeline in the Middle East; the InterContinental brand is a significant part of this pipeline.

“This latest opening is a testament to the strength of the brand which celebrates its 70th anniversary globally this year.”

Intercontinental Doha Residences is the second residences offering by the brand in Doha, joining Intercontinental Doha The City Hotel and Residence Suites which opened in 2012.

There are currently 25 Intercontinental properties across the Middle East, with a further nine due to open within the next three to five years.
