Starwood’s Tribute Portfolio (now part of Marriott International following the recent merger), has signed its first property in the Netherlands.

The brand will welcome The Apollo Hotel Amsterdam from April next year, following renovation of its guestrooms, restaurant and public areas.

The 223-room hotel has a canalfront location in Amsterdam’s Old-South district, close to the city’s popular De Pijp area. It is currently marketed under the Wyndham brand.

The revamp will be overseen by Belgian designer Will Erens, and will “emphasise the hotel’s local essence and indie spirit”.

Facilities will include over 600 sqm of meeting and events space, several outdoor terraces and a private jetty, fitness centre and spa, Harbour Club Kitchen restaurant, The Marina Lounge and Terrace, a 24-hour business centre and on-site parking.

The Tribute Portfolio launched in 2015, and currently has 28 properties either opened or signed in locations including London, Paris, Singapore, Japan and across the US.
