Etihad Airways has launched an Android version of its smartphone app.

The mobile app allows users to book flights, check in, view boarding passes, check flight statuses, view their Etihad Guest balance, and scan credit cards and passports for use with payments and checking in.

The new Android app follows the launch of the carrier’s iPhone app earlier this year, which Etihad says has so far been downloaded over 350,000 times and delivered over 25,000 bookings and 130,000 check ins.

Commenting on the launch Justin Warby, Vice President of Direct Sales for Etihad Airways, said:

“This is a step forward in our innovation strategy to enable a convenient, more personalised digital travel experience.  Our guests are central to how we develop these services, and their feedback has been important in the creation of this latest app.

Technological innovation will be vital in the development of our industry, and as a leading airline, we want to be able to provide services that make travel simple for everyone.”

The new app is available via the Google Play Store, and users can benefit from 10 per cent off flights and a bonus 250 Etihad Guest miles for every booking made through the app before November 30, using the promotional code ANDROID10.
