Leonardo Hotels has opened its second UK property, located in Edinburgh’s Haymarket district.

The Leonardo Hotel Edinburgh City Centre previously operated under the Premier Inn brand, and features 282 rooms and four meeting spaces.

The group said that the property would undergo “extensive renovations” to provide guests “with the highest standard of design, facilities and quality”.

The European division of Israel’s Fattal Hotels, the Leonardo brand debuted in the UK last year with the rebranding of a former Holiday Inn property on Heathrow’s Bath Road as the Leonardo Hotel London Heathrow Airport.

Commenting on the opening Daniel Roger, Managing Director Europe, said:

“We are delighted to add Edinburgh to our portfolio. The capital of Scotland is a fascinating and multifaceted city. It is second only to London as the largest economic and trade centre in Great Britain.

“I am certain that we can expect a positive response from our guests at the new destination, as we are offering them another attractive addition to our existing hotels.”

Leonardo Hotels currently operates over 65 properties across 35 destinations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary and Italy.
