Plaza Premium has added three new lounges at Rio’s main Tom Jobim International airport.

The lounge provider has opened facilities in the domestic and international departures halls at the airport, with a further lounge in the arrivals hall to follow next month.

The lounges reflect Carioca* design, with “the use of furniture, murals, carpet and graffiti artwork, bringing wonderful memories of the Copacabana beach and other landscapes of the city”.

The international departures lounge has views over the runway, and features an outdoor terrace, two VIP rooms, free wifi and showers. Design elements include artwork depciting a map of South America, and carpets reproducing the waves of iconic Copacabana beach.

Food and beverage choices include “hot and cold authentic delicacies at the buffet counters and live cooking stations, which are further coupled with a selection of drinks appreciated by both Brazilians and foreigners, including the famous caipirinha”.

The domestic departures lounge features a graffiti wall, free wifi, showers, and local F&B options including guarana flavoured water, cheese bread and tapioca.

Finally the arrivals facility is located next to the Terminal 2 car park, and is the first arrivals lounge at the airport. Features include showers, a relaxation room, VIP room and meeting space.

The international departures and arrivals lounges are open from 0500 to 0200 daily, while the domestic departures lounge is open from 0500 to 2200 daily. Entry costs from US$54 depending on length of stay.
