Tokyo’s Narita International Airport is now partially open, allowing select flights to depart but redirecting all incoming flights to other airports following the massive earthquake and tsunami that ripped through Japan’s northeastern coastal cities.

Haneda Airport has opened up two of its runways so certain incoming flights can land.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced that so far it has had to cancel 131 flights and, including diversions, a total of 162 flights and 37,800 passengers have been affected. At Haneda Airport alone, 10,000 passengers were left stranded.

Cathay Pacific announced that the CX549 flight from Haneda to Hong Kong has been grounded at Haneda Airport. The carrier said: “It is likely that flights to Japan may continue to be affected in the coming days. We will monitor the situation closely.” Click here for updates.

Singapore Airlines has delayed the SQ636 bound for Haneda Aiport originally scheduled to depart at 2150 to midnight. The SQ 638 for Narita Airport will depart n time at 2355. The SQ633 scheduled for 0030 on March 12, has been delayed until further notice. For status updates, click here

The train systems are still shut.
