Qantas' new premium carrier to use A320s

25 Aug 2011

Qantas announced its new Asia-based premium carrier will be using Airbus A320 aircraft.

According to a company spokesperson, the "new premium carrier will have the feel of a private jet".

The executive added: “As Qantas is still in negotiations with governments and investors on this project, we are unable to disclose the location for the carrier and the configuration of the aircraft.”

The new project, announced as part of its international growth strategy (see story here), will sport “a new name, a new brand, a new aircraft and an exciting new look and feel,” said Alan Joyce, Qantas chief executive.
