Qantas and Japan Airlines (JAL) have increased the terms of an existing codeshare agreement to include more flights between Australia and Japan.
The new deal allows daily operations from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth to Tokyo and Osaka via Singapore, and thrice-weekly services from Adelaide to Tokyo and Osaka, also via Singapore.
The first services will be from Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth to Tokyo and Osaka on June 1, and reservations for code-share flights start on May 20.
Qantas and JAL both already offer daily flights between Sydney and Tokyo, with the Australian carrier also offering thrice-weekly flights between Perth and Tokyo. The two have had a code-share agreement since April 1986.
