Accor launches Pullman in Anshan, China

12 Sep 2012

Accor has opened a Pullman property in the northeastern Chinese city of Anshan, which is known as the country’s "capital of iron and steel".

Located close to the North Korean border and just south of Shenyang, Anshan is a major centre for China’s iron and steel industries, accounting for almost half the world’s production of these metals.

The city has recently been seeking to attract more foreign investment. In 2010, it was named by the Economist Intelligence Unit as one of the cities likely to lead the country’s economic growth in the next decade.

The Pullman Anshan Time Square is located about 10 minutes from the city centre, close to government buildings, and about 30 minutes from the airport.

The hotel has 331 rooms including 21 suites. All of the rooms have LCD televisions and Nespresso machines. The bathrooms have rain shower, radios and telephones. There are also yoga mats and a fitness programme specially devised by Pullman. Complimentary wifi is available throughout the hotel.

A fitness centre on the fifth floor has an indoor heated pool and massage and sauna facilities. There are also rooms available for yoga practice, along with ping pong and billiard tables.

The hotel provides 900 sqm of meeting space with six meeting rooms, a multi-purpose room Time Centre, and the Wangfu Ballroom. It adopts the Pullman Co-meeting concept which focuses on comfort and connectivity. Facilities for meetings include a specially created Chill Out Space and the Connectivity Lounge offering high-tech IT solutions.

This property is the 14th Pullman to open in China, making the country the largest market for the five-star brand. There are plans to open another 26 Pullman hotels in China by the end of 2015.
