New Delhi Airport Express city check in to open

Delhi’s Airport Metro Express, connecting Indira Gandhi International Airport to the major areas in the city, will finally roll out city check-in facilities. The service will be available at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium stations tomorrow, June 10, 2011, if all goes well.
But given the track record of the Airport Metro Express, which has missed several deadlines and opened at least five months late, whether the counters will become fully operational as scheduled is still questionable. If they do, passengers can check in two to six hours before departure.
The rail link itself started operations in February this year (see story here), which cut travel time to and from the airport from approximately two hours to 18 minutes. The train goes through six stops, of which four are currently operational. The remaining two stations, Aerocity and Dhaula Kuan, will be operational by the end of this month as well, reported the Economic Times, a respected local newspaper.
