Malaysia Airlines’ first Airbus A380 aircraft has returned to the Toulouse factory after completing interior furnishing and cabin system tests in Hamburg.
The carrier is now in line for final system checks before it can be delivered to MAS at the end of this month. This is the first of six A380s on order, with the second to enter service in August.
As reported earlier (see story here), the superjumbo will be deployed on the Kuala Lumpur-London route from July 1 onwards and the second one will then be added to make it “daily operations”.
MAS’ three-class A380, with a total of 494 seats, has stirred up some controversy because of a “baby ban” in the first class cabin on the main deck (see story here) and an infant ban in the upper deck economy cabin (see story here). For details on the configuration of the new aircraft, click here.
