JAL Sky Recliner to debut on Singapore and Beijing routes

Japan Airlines (JAL) will introduce a new executive class seat, dubbed the "JAL Sky Recliner", on its short and mid-haul routes with the delivery of its four Boeing 767-300ER. These will be rolled out on flights bound for Singapore and Beijing from this month (October 2010).
The JAL Sky Recliner is modeled after the airline's luxurious first class seat on domestic routes. Shaped like a plush sofa with fine upholstery and removable armrests, it has a pitch of 129.5cm and reclines to 132 degrees. To ensure ample legroom, the seats are arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration.
Adjoining seats share an optional large partition to give passengers heightened privacy as well as expanded seat pockets for better storage of personal belongings. Seat control buttons are large and ergonomic. Furthermore, each JAL Sky Recliner seat is fitted with a personal 10.6-inch TV monitor, new video input capability, a USB port and an electrical power outlet.
Besides the JAL Sky Recliner, the new B767s are installed with the latest version of JAL's inflight entertainment system called MAGIC V, which now offers touchscreen functions and enhanced compatibility with personal electronic devices.
Passengers in every cabin class will have the flexibility of accessing their own videos or photographs by connecting a personal gadget such as an iPod, digital camera or video camera to the system. Another highlight of MAGIC V is the Picture In Picture (PIP) feature which enables passengers to display a small flight map simultaneously with other programmes. They can use the Interactive Map function to select how they wish to view the flight map.

EricYuDysanco thank you for your comment unfortunately, these new seats are not available on their long-haul routes. It is only on the B767-300, which are used on short and mid haul routes. Apologies for not making this clear in the first place. We have now tweaked the story to avoid further confusions.
