Japan Airlines (JAL) has entered into a codeshare agreement with LAN Airlines to offer passengers easy access to Santiago, Chile, from Tokyo, via Los Angeles or New York. LAN operates seven and 14 weekly flights to Santiago from Los Angeles and New York respectively, connecting with JAL's daily services to these cities.
Both oneworld members, JAL and LAN offer reciprocal frequent flyer benefits that allow JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members and LANPASS members to earn and redeem miles across both carriers.
Recently, JAL expanded its codeshare agreement with China Eastern Airlines (see story here).
