Emirates begins new service between Milan and JFK

3 Oct 2013 by Clement Huang

Emirates has begun flying between Milan and New York.

The Gulf carrier already serves both destinations, but the new Dubai-Milan-New York service aims to address the under-served transatlantic link between the two cities, both in terms of non-stop flights as well as a premium product offering.

By using Milan as a stopover destination, Emirates believes that this will enable customers to easily connect onto flights serving the US via New York and Europe via Milan.

With the new connection, the airline now offers triple daily services into New York, home to the largest Italian community in America.

The route will be served by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and feature a three-class configuration, with eight seats in first class, 42 in business and 310 in economy.

Emirates flight EK205 departs Dubai at 0905 and arrives in Milan at 1350. The flight then leaves Milan at 1600 and arrives in New York at 1900 the same day. The return leg sees flight EK206 depart New York at 2220 and land in Milan at 1215 the following day, before departing for Dubai at 1400, and arriving at 2205.

Having launched flights to Warsaw, Algiers, Tokyo Haneda and Stockholm (see here) this year, the airline is preparing to start services to Conakry in Guinea, Sialkot in Pakistan, Kabul (see story), Kiev (see story), Taipei (see story) and Boston (see story) in the coming months.
