Emirates has launched a fourth daily service between Dubai and Hong Kong.
The last two years have seen the Gulf carrier double its flight schedule to Hong Kong, and it now provides over 10,000 seats for passengers travelling between the two cities each week.
With immediate effect, Emirates flight EK386 departs Dubai daily at 1830 and arrives in Hong Kong at 0535 the following day. For the return leg, flight EK387 will leave Hong Kong at 0705 and arrive back in Dubai the same day at 1215.
"The fourth service between Hong Kong and Dubai gives our customers the flexibility to choose a morning arrival and/or departure that fits with their schedule and connect through Dubai to destinations on our ever expanding global network," said Barry Brown, Emirates' divisional senior vice president commercial operations east.
According to Emirates, this new daily service will serve to increase the connectivity between Dubai to Europe, Middle East and Africa.
For instance, the carrier currently operates five daily flights to London, with two of them – flights EK003 and EK009 – departing Dubai at 1430 and 1445 respectively. Passengers on this new flight from Hong Kong would be able to connect to these two London-bound services following a short two-hour layover.
Emirates has stated that the service will initially be operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft and feature a three-class configuration, with 12 seats in first class, 42 in business and 183 in economy. This aircraft will be upgraded to a larger Boeing 777-300ER later in the year.
The Gulf carrier has recently detailed its growth plans, which will see it bolster its A380 and B777 fleets with 53 and 64 more of each aircraft type respectively (see here). It flies to more than 130 destinations in six continents.
