Conrad Seoul opened its doors today, adding Hilton Worldwide’s “contemporary luxury” brand to the group’s portfolio in South Korea.
The 434-room hotel is in the city’s Yeouido district, an area in southwest Seoul that has been dubbed its Wall Street due to the large number of financial institutions there. These include Mirae Asset Group, Korea Life Insurance, Korea Investment Holdings and many more.
The hotel is one of four towers in the mixed-use office and commercial building, the Seoul IFC, which is under development for completion in 2014. It is directly above Yeouido Station, which is on lines 5 and 9 of Seoul's subway system, with the latter providing an 18-minute connection to Gimpo Airport. Incheon Airport is 54km away and takes about an hour to reach by car.
The hotel’s deluxe rooms are 48 sqm (517 sqft) and offer views of the river and city. Premium rooms and executive rooms are the same size but are located on higher floors of the tower to provide more spectacular views. Then there are 50 suites ranging from 96 sqm (1,033 sqft) to 288 sqm (3,100 sqft).

The rooms are all equipped with an Apple-based multimedia centre comprising a Mac mini-computer which lets guests play personal content from their devices and has internet access plus USB keys for thumb drives, cameras and other electronic devices.
The executive lounge, located on the hotel's 37th floor, has been designed to feel like a private residence, with an intimate atmosphere and fireplace. It offers 360 degree views of Seoul. The lounge serves a buffet breakfast, snacks and drinks, evening cocktails and canapés. It offers complimentary wifi with iPads and laptops available to borrow.
The hotel’s fitness centre Pulse 8 has a gym open 24 hours, with personal trainers available and daily scheduled exercise classes. There is a 25-metre long indoor swimming pool and a golf driving range with five stations, as well as a sauna and steam room. Meanwhile, on the hotel’s 9th floor a salon offers manicure, pedicure and hairdressing services by Tony & Guy.
