China Eastern has announced a new route from Chongqing to Los Angeles via Pudong, Shanghai.
The service starts on August 20 and will be operated thrice weekly by an A340-600.
The 322-seat aircraft consists of three classes – an eight-seat first class configured 1-2-1; 42 business seats arranged 2-2-2; and 272 economy seats in a 2-4-2 configuration.
It will depart Chongqing every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 0900, arriving in Pudong at 1115, leaving again at 1300 and landing in Los Angeles at 1005 local time.
The return leg will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, departing the US at 1230, landing in Shanghai at 1735, leaving again at 1920 for a 2200 arrival back in Chongqing.
China Eastern said this link will help strengthen the economic competitiveness of the southwest China region by providing a convenient trans-Pacific link for business and leisure travellers.
