Cathay Pacific (CX) has announced changes to its operations between Hong Kong and India this winter, which will involve the postponement in introducing premium economy on Mumbai flights.
In July, CX announced that introduction of the new product would be sped up on many long-haul routes (see story here), including Hong Kong-Mumbai, which was set to receive premium economy in October. The date for this has now been revised to March 1, 2013.
A spokesperson for the airline explained that the postponement was “due to operational and aircraft deployment requirements.”
Operational changes to Hong Kong-India routes, meanwhile, involve Chennai and Delhi. Both destinations will, however, feature premium economy by the beginning of next year.
Flights between Hong Kong and Chennai will have the new cabin product starting January 1, when it will be operated by an A330-300 daily. Between October 30 to November 28, flights leaving Hong Kong on Tuesdays and returning from Chennai on Wednesdays will use an A340-300.
Between Hong Kong and Delhi, flights CX694 and CX695 will have premium economy seating from October 28 onwards. Flights CX697 and 698 on the same route, meanwhile, will feature the new cabin from December 10. Thereafter, all flights between Hong Kong and Delhi will use A330-300 aircraft.
