Cathay Pacific and fellow oneworld alliance member Japan Airlines have expanded their codeshare service.
As part of a new arrangement, Cathay Pacific’s code will be placed on JAL's domestic flights between Tokyo's Haneda Airport to eight Japanese cities: Izumo, Miyazaki, Misawa, Maysuyama, Nagasaki, Oita, Tokushima and Ube.
This enhanced codeshare agreement will provide more convenience for passengers travelling between Hong Kong and Japan. Passengers can now connect to a total of 20 destinations in Japan. According to the Visa Global Travel Intentions Survey findings released in October, Japan has been voted as the number one destination among business and leisure travellers in Asia-Pacific, especially in Hong Kong (see story here).
“Japan has long been a very popular destination for Hong Kong travellers and we at Cathay Pacific have been putting significant effort into giving our passengers more options for travel to the country. We are pleased to be able to offer even more domestic destinations through this ongoing cooperation with our oneworld partner Japan Airlines,” said Cathay Pacific director sales & marketing, Rupert Hogg.
