ANA says Dreamliner glitches not serious

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has cancelled two Dreamliner flights between Frankfurt and Haneda due to technical glitches. The route began operation on January 21.
The NH204 Frankfurt-Haneda flight on January 26 was cancelled because of an “error” found in the Flap system, high-lift devices set on the main wings. “It was repaired in Frankfurt and flown back to Haneda around eight hours after the scheduled departure time on the same day,” said a spokesperson from ANA.
Four days later, on January 30, flight NH203 aircraft from Haneda to Frankfurt, serviced by the same Dreamliner, was also terminated. “Cancellation was due to a temporal error of computer software that monitors and controls the airframe. We made component replacements and re-loaded the software. The aircraft is now operating normally,” the spokesperson explained, adding that “these are normal cases not only for a new aircraft but also... for any other aircraft that is operating.”
But ANA asserts that neither of these two cases represents serious errors with the aircraft itself, and that further operations of the Dreamliner will not be affected.
In November last year, another of ANA's Dreamliners experienced a landing gear glitch on a domestic flight to Okayama from Haneda, where it was forced to make a second landing approach. The problem was linked to a hydraulic valve issue (see story here).

There will always be teething troubles with new aircraft. Singapore and Emirates Airlines both suffered a large number of glitches with the A380 resulting in delays and cancellations, so much so the crew started to nick name it the 'A180' due to the number of times aircraft had to turn around and crawl back to it's parking stand shortly after push back.
Dreamliner is a great aircraft, here's to the future!
