Speaking about the new route, Li Dianchun, Hong Kong Airlines’ chief commercial officer, says: “We are delighted that Hong Kong Airlines is launching this Hong Kong-Seoul service. As the capital of Korean culture, fashion and entertainment, Seoul has long been a favourite among Hong Kong travellers.

“For those who are looking for a nature retreat, Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Province and Incheon are just a short train ride away. Hong Kong Airlines will continue to grow our route network in Asia, and strengthen Hong Kong’s position as one of the world’s major aviation hubs.”

Along with the new Seoul service, Hong Kong Airlines will be increasing the frequency of its flight services to Gold Coast/Cairns and Auckland over the holiday season. Starting December 9, flights to Gold Coast/Cairns will increase from three to five times weekly, with the service further increasing to daily during Chinese New Year. Meanwhile, flight services to Auckland will increase from seven to ten times weekly beginning December 10.

The increased frequency follows the carrier’s launch earlier this year of year-round services to Gold Coast/Cairns and its announcement in May that it will begin a daily direct service to Auckland starting November 10.
