Emirates is giving away moisturising pyjamas to first class passengers travelling overnight.

Claimed to be a “world first for the skies”, the sleepwear sets, which come in grey, help keep your skin soft and hydrated when flying.

Designed by Matrix, the patented “Hydra Active Microcapsule Technology” sees “billions of capsules applied to the fabric, which gently releases naturally-moisturising sea kelp during movement”.

The moisturising pyjamas also come with matching slippers, an eye mask and a pouch to take them home with you. The airline says that the specially designed pyjama material locks in moisture for up to ten washes so you can reuse them.

Although it’s the first time moisturising clothing has been available in the air, in February 2016, Guess created a pair of moisturising jeans. You can read more about airline pyjamas here.

For frequent flyers who suffer from the effects of dry cabin air on planes, the innovation is compelling. In the future, we can expect moisturising shirts and other items of clothing being marketed at travellers.

First class passengers travelling with Emirates overnight also receive leather Bulgari amenity kits containing skincare products and woody floral fragrance Eau Parfumée au Thé Noir, as well as a faux sheepskin blanket to sleep under.
