Low-cost carrier Jetstar has expanded use of its mobile boarding pass service to passengers on flights from Singapore to 21 destinations around Asia-Pacific.

The airline’s mobile boarding pass is available on select flights for passengers travelling with 7kg of carry-on baggage only and who are eligible for visa-free entry to the destinations to which they are travelling. The boarding pass can then be used to enter the departure hall and pass immigration straight to the departure gate.

The 21 destinations now eligible for the service include: Kuala Lumpur and Penang in Malaysia; Ho Chi Minh City and Danang in Vietnam; Jakarta, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Surabaya, Medan and Denpasar (Bali) in Indonesia; Yangon in Myanmar; Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia; Hong Kong; Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand; Taipei in Taiwan; Guiyang, Haikou and Shantou in mainland China; and Manila in the Philippines.

Flights to Osaka in Japan, Sanya in mainland China, and Perth and Darwin in Australia are not eligible for mobile boarding passes.

Travellers can select the option when checking in online, after which a link will be sent via email or SMS text message that includes the boarding pass.
