Malaysian low-cost carrier Malindo Air has opened reservations for its upcoming Brisbane service, which is set to launch at the end of this month. Starting March 31, the airline will fly daily from Kuala Lumpur to the Queensland capital – its second destination in Australia after Perth – via Denpasar, Bali.

Malindo’s Boeing 737-900ER will operate the route, with a capacity of 180 including 12 business and 168 economy class seats.

“We are delighted to launch the only service between Kuala Lumpur and Brisbane with one stop in the famous island of Bali,” said the airline’s CEO, Chandran Rama Muthy. “There are immense opportunities for future growth associated with this new connectivity as Brisbane is a significant commercial business hub and tourism gateway to one of Australia’s Unesco World Heritage sites, the Great Barrier Reef, and the beautiful Gold Coast.”

Promotional one-way fares currently being offered start from RM1,049 (US$236) for economy and RM2,369 (US$533) for business class. Free baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment and meals are included in these fares.
