The renovation of Japan Airlines’ Sakura Lounge at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok is nearing completion, with the lounge due to open to JAL Mileage Bank members on March 1.
The refurbished lounge has received a new layout in line with the revamping the airline’s international lounges in Japan have also received. Along with the reworked space, a new carry-on baggage area with digital locks has been introduced and a new smoking area has been added.
The food and beverage counter has also been upgraded. The menu at the lounge has received an update of its own, and now includes Japanese appetisers and dishes such as beef curry provided by Japanese restaurant Nippon-Tei, which currently operates six branches in Thailand.
Each seat in the lounge now also has adjacent power and USB outlets. Seating ranges from more lounge-centric armchairs to low-back restaurant-style seating, with tables and counters in both the dining and lounge areas.
For those looking to refresh at the airport before departure, the lone existing shower suite in the lounge has also been revamped and a further two have been added.
Access to the lounge will begin starting at 5.45am on Wednesday, March 1.
