TAP Portugal has announced an increase in the number of flights to and from Gatwick airport this winter.

The carrier will add two frequencies to its Gatwick-Porto route, taking the number of weekly flights between the two destinations to 14.

TAP will also increase its weekly flights on the Gatwick-Lisbon route from seven to 12.

The airline says that the additions mean it will offer a total of 71 direct weekly flights to Portugal from the UK airports of Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester.

The flag carrier has also launched a new Portugal stopover programme, allowing passengers flying between the UK and America, Brazil or Africa, to break up their journey for up to three days in Lisbon or Porto, on either the outbound or return legs.
