This winter sees AbuDhabi-based Etihad upgrade its London route to an almost all A380 service.
Of its 21 weekly flights linking AbuDhabi with London Heathrow no fewer than 20 will be flown by the super jumbo, according to routesonline.com.
The new schedule takes effect from November 18. And Etihad’s three daily flights between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow are:
EY011 depart 0230, arrive 0640
EY019 depart 0800, arrive 1205
EY017 depart 1335, arrive 1745 *
Between London Heathrow and AbuDhabi
EY012 depart 0900, arrive 2020.
EY020 depart 1405, arrive 0120 (following day)
EY018 depart 2000, arrive 0715 (following day). *
- On Wednesdays this flight is operated either by a B777-300ER or A340-600.
It would appear that Etihad is following in the footsteps of its local rival Emirates. The latter upgrades its most important routes to an all-A380 operation as soon as it can.
