Passenger traffic of domestic airlines in June increased by 20.8 per cent sinceĀ last month.

The year on year increase for June 2016 from 2015 is calculatedĀ at 22.5 per cent.

Budget airline IndiGo (10 per cent) saw maximum increase in passenger load factor. While passenger load factor of full-service carrier JetAirways (3 per cent) was higher than national-carrier Air India (2 per cent).

In terms of on-time performance, Vistara and IndiGo recorded the highest numbers at the four Indian metros (Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi and Hyderabad) at 86 per cent and 83 per cent respectively.

With the highest traffic growth in the world at 8.6 per cent, India’s domestic passenger traffic has seen an increase of 21 per cent since last year.
