Boeing will deliver two Dreamliners to Air India this year and four more by next year, in order to complete its order of 27 B787-800s.

“The delivery of Dreamliners start in November this year. It (delivery) is on schedule. First plane in November and the next in December. Four more in 2017,” says Dinesh Keskar, senior vice president sales, Asia Pacific and India at Boeing.

Air India’s fleet of 118 has 21 B787-800. The national carrier had ordered 68 aircraft from Boeing, that included 27 Dreamliners, 41 B777s and B737-800s. It hasn’t taken any delivery of its pending Dreamliners since May 2015.

Boeing also forecasts that India will require 1,850 aircraft in the next 20 years.
