Gulf Air has selected the Thales Avant IFE system for its fleet of forthcoming aircraft.

The carrier will fit the Android-based product to its forthcoming B787-9, A320 neo and A321 Neos, totalling 39 aircraft.

According to Thales the Avant system “offers a highly customisable passenger experience with a wide selection of features and applications”.

Features will include HD monitors, and Thales Touch Passenger Media Units in business class, allowing premium passengers to multi-task on a second screen.

Gulf Air’s first B787-9 and A320 Neo aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2018, with the carrier’s first A321 Neo slated for 2020.
