A380 to serve all Emirates’ London flights

10 Aug 2015
Emirates will be the largest international superjumbo operator into London from January 1 next year when it deploys A380s on all eight daily flights into the UK capital. Emirates currently has five daily flights to London Heathrow and three to London Gatwick. “The deployment of a third A380 to London Gatwick now means that travellers to and from London can enjoy our world-class A380 on every flight,” said Hubert Frach, Emirates divisional senior vice president, commercial operations West. “In the last five years we have increased capacity into London by over 25 per cent.” Passengers can experience Emirates’ flagship A380 experience from inbound destinations such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Shanghai and Bangkok all the way to London. The twice daily Manchester service means the airline will have a total of 70 A380 flights into the UK from the New Year. As the world’s largest passenger airliner, the A380 cabin is, according to manufacturer Airbus, “the quietest and most spacious in the sky”. The eighth A380 service into London is a major investment for Emirates in the UK and suggests that the route is doing well. The upgrade will strengthen Emirates’ position “as a provider of world-class travel”, added Frach. Emirates is the world's largest A380 operator and currently has 35 A380 destinations, with Copenhagen joining the airline’s superjumbo network from the beginning of December.
