Jet Airways (9W) has celebrated the launch of its inaugural direct service between its base in Mumbai and Paris.
The route, operated by an Airbus A330 will initially serve Paris Charles de Gaulle four days a week on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, before becoming a daily operation from June 26 onwards. The aircraft features a two-class configuration with 30 seats in Premiere (business) and 196 in economy. For a detailed seatplan, see here.
In addition, the airline has also announced that it has expanded its codeshare partnership with Air France (AF), which sees both carriers placing their marketing codes on each other’s flights between Mumbai and Paris. Both airlines serve the route daily, which essentially means that passengers will have a choice of two flights everyday. It allows passengers flexibility in scheduling as Jet Airways operates an afternoon flight out of Mumbai, while Air France takes off in the early morning.
Schedule of Mumbai–Paris trunk route:
BOM = Mumbai; CDG = Paris Charles de Gaulle
The codeshare partnership is not limited to the Mumbai–Paris route. The expanded arrangement also sees Jet Airways placing its code on domestic Air France services to cities like Nice, Lyon, Marseille, and Toulouse.
In return, Air France places its code on several Jet Airways’ domestic flights to cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi and Bengaluru.
Frequent flyer members of both Jet Airways’ Jet Privilege and Air France’s Flying Blue loyalty programmes will be able to enjoy mileage accrual and redemption benefits on the codeshare flights, thereby providing an additional means for them to maintain or upgrade their tier status.
