Asiana’s first A380 takes flight

18 Dec 2013 by Clement Huang
Airbus has confirmed that Asiana Airlines’ first A380 has successfully completed its maiden flight. The newly assembled superjumbo flew from Airbus’ facilities in Toulouse, France to the aircraft manufacturer’s site in Hamburg, Germany, where it will undergo painting as well as cabin furnishing to the specifications outlined by the Korean carrier. Upon taking delivery of the A380 in Q2 of 2014, Asiana will become the 12th operator of the aircraft. The airline has a further five A380s on order, and intends to initially operate the superjumbo on long-haul routes to Los Angeles and New York.
