Business Traveller has been given exclusive access to Oman Air’s new premium lounges at Muscat International.

The new lounges mean business and first class passengers with Oman Air will no longer have to use the existing lounge at the airport, which is open to premium passengers with all airlines.

The new facilities are set to open in the next week or so once final approvals have been completed. The first class facility is spacious and has natural daylight, with features including two rest rooms with couches, a manned bar, satellite TV with 350 channels, and shower rooms.

A chef is on hand throughout the day serving a la carte dishes for breakfast, all-day dining, afternoon tea and dinner, with choices including sushi, rack of lamb, prawns, Ceasar salad, sandwiches and english scones.

There is also a new limousine service for first class passengers, offering transfers from the lounge to the aircraft steps in an Audi A8. It’s worth noting that Oman Air only has a total of four aircraft with first class seating, so this new lounge will be a very exclusive offering.

The business class lounge is larger than the current facility that is used by all airlines at the airport, and again enjoys natural daylight, with features including a manned bar, self service soft drinks and food area, five computer terminals, a shower room, and a Chedi spa with two rooms offering 15 minute treatments.

Note that the new lounges will only be available to Oman Air customers travelling in the relevant classes.
