Etihad Airways
will commence flights to Chicago in September, its second US destination after
New York.
The carrier will
fly thrice-weekly to the city from Wednesday September 2, rising to daily from
Thursday October 1. The flights will be served by A340-500 aircraft configured
for three classes, with 200 passengers in economy, 28 in business and 12 in
first class.
Flight EY151 will depart Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at
1020, arriving into Chicago at 1640, with the return leg EY150 leaving Chicago
on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 2030 and landing back in Abu Dhabi at 1955
the following day.
Etihad is also
due to commence flights to Melbourne, Athens and Istanbul in 2009, and has
announced an upgrade to its first class product this year (see online news
January 1).
