Hilton Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of its inaugural full-service residences in China on Tuesday. The Hilton Jinan South Hotel & Residences, located in the Shandong provincial capital, marks the company’s 37th hotel in China and claims to be the first international hotel in Jinan South.

The new property offers 420 units, comprising 316 guestrooms and 104 high-end apartments with one, two or three bedrooms in the residence tower. A number of suites, ranging in size from the 102 sqm King Executive Suite to the 216 sqm Presidential Suite, are available to guests.

Meanwhile, travellers staying in an executive room have access to the Executive Lounge on the 34th floor, which serves complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour canapés and cocktails. The hotel also has a 24-hour business centre offering secretarial and business services.

The new hotel is part of Hilton’s push to expand its presence in China and developing business destinations. “We are committed to strengthening our footprint within China, specifically in the locations where both our leisure and business guests are travelling,” says Bruce McKenzie, senior vice president, operations, Greater China & Mongolia for Hilton. “A milestone achievement in the growth and evolution of our portfolio, the opening of Hilton Jinan South Hotel & Residences brings our flagship brand to the capital city of Shandong province, an important economic centre for northern China that is increasingly driving leisure tourism, corporate travel and MICE segments.”

The hotel’s four F&B options have a particularly strong Asian focus. The three dining options include international buffet breakfast and noodle bar Open, Lu and Cantonese restaurant Yuxi, and speciality Chinese restaurant View. Meanwhile Ji Lounge, located on the 35th floor of the property, claims to be the highest bar in the city and its only library-themed lounge bar.

Direct access to the Grand Height Shopping Mall – Elite City – from the hotel means guests have retail options close at hand, while those able to find time to explore can head to the nearby Thousand Buddha Mountain or Red Valley – South Scenic District. Both are within a reasonable distance of the hotel, as is Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport, located 34 kilometres away.

As part of the opening, Hilton HHonors members who book directly through Hilton preferred channels will receive 1,000 bonus points per night before March 19, 2017.
