Hard Rock Hotels is set to open the doors of its first property in mainland China this summer with the launch of the Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen in the city’s Mission Hills Centreville, part of the Mission Hills golf resort facility.

In line with the brand’s musical focus, guests will be able to experience the hotel’s “The Sound of Your Stay” programme, which offers complimentary in-room Fender guitars and DJ equipment with which to jam. Meanwhile select musical memorabilia from the company’s more than 80,000 piece collection will be on display throughout the hotel.

Within each of the 258 rooms and suites will also be music-inspired décor, while “Chinese elements” will also be incorporated in the design. At the top-end of the spectrum are Studio Suites, Rock Royalty Studio Suites and Rock Star Suite, for those wanting a true rock ‘n’ roll experience.

From the F&B side, along with a signature Hard Rock Café, the hotel will also offer a cake shop, lobby lounge and all-day dining restaurant. Other leisure facilities include a fitness centre, a “Rock Shop”, and a kids’ club, while for corporate groups some 1,000 square metres of event space are available.

“While Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen will offer a one-of-a-kind luxury experience, guests can expect the same music-centred fun as other Hard Rock Hotels around the world,” said Peter Wynne, area vice president of operations – Asia Pacific Hotels, Hard Rock Hotels. “As our brand has proven over the years, nothing is more universal than a love of music and having a great time.”

The hotel will be within approximate 45 minutes of Shenzhen Bao’An International Airport and 35 minutes from the city centre.

Late last year, Hainan Airlines began flying direct between Shenzhen and Auckland three times per week.
