Aloft Taipei Beitou opened its doors on Thursday (January 5), marking the second Aloft-brand hotel to open in the Taiwanese capital.
Previously set to open on New Year’s Day, the new 292-room hotel has been developed with a design and technology-forward focus in mind. Public areas and guestrooms feature works by local artists showcasing elements indigenous to Beitou, while the loft-inspired rooms and suites are equipped with SPG Keyless technology, allowing guests to access their rooms using their mobile device.
“Taiwan draws both business and leisure travellers, and we look forward to bringing the Aloft brand’s tech-forward, vibrant experience and a modern style that is different by design to Beitou,” said Marriott International’s CEO, Greater China, Stephen Ho.
Key among the hotel’s offerings is its social spaces, including F&B and events areas. The hotel’s ground-floor Re:mix lounge has six-metre-high ceilings with butterfly-wing styled wooden panel lighting – Taiwan is known for its myriad species of butterflies – along with a large floor-to-ceiling pixel-esque RGB LED wall.
The hotel’s main restaurant Nook – an American-style eatery – offers buffet breakfast and à la carte dishes. Pet owners can also bring their pets to the restaurant, which has a terrace offering water bowls and a pet menu. Meanwhile, live acoustic music performances are offered at the W:xyz bar, and guests can also get a quick bite at the 24/7 grab-and-go Re:fuel venue.
On the events space side, Taipei’s second Aloft offers three Tactic rooms equipped with the latest AV technology. The spaces cover a total of 176 sqm and fast, free wifi is offered throughout the venues.
To mark the opening, Aloft Taipei Beitou is offering a one-night stay in an Aloft guestroom with wired or wifi internet access, one complimentary cocktail per stay, double Starpoints for every eligible purchase and late checkout until 2pm. The package is being offered for NT$3,600 (US$113) until March 31 this year.
